Motorola's Marketing Video is 100% AI and Figma is Caught with Their Pants Down
A few apps and news around the artificial intelligence space!
Hey y’all!
Most of my team is gearing to exit the office today or tomorrow (and for the rest of the week) and so I’m trying to tie all the loose ends up for the week and cram them into 2 — we’ll see if I can get it all done without having to lose any sleep!
I don’t mind these crunch times since they can, in many ways, create a manufactured focus that is very useful if harnessed. Perhaps you can too!

Motorola shared this ad campaign and it’s entirely AI-generated:
They used Sora and Midjourney for the piece as well as Adobe Firefly, Krea, Magnific, Luma, and more. Fascinating. It tooks months to plan which isn’t exactly what most of these tools are advertising as their “value” proposition, but, meh.
The future of LLMs reaching AGI is unlikely, at least according to this person. But, at least this trend will continue:
Historically, standing on each step of the ladder, the AI research community has been terrible at predicting how much farther you can go with the current paradigm, what the next step will be, when it will arrive, what new applications it will enable, and what the implications for safety are. That is a trend we think will continue.
Lmsys researchers just shared their new research called RouteLLM, an open-source framework for cost-effective routing between large language models.
Suno is now on iOS. You can make songs anywhere you are.
Microsoft AI CEO, Mustafa Suleyman, has the internet mad because he said that publicly available online content is “freeware” for AI training:
Honestly, he just said the quiet part out loud as most folks think this way, especially the thousands of AI entrepreneurs who need data badly.
Our experiences of the web are changing via LLMs:
Web 3.0 features blockchain technologies, decentralization, AI, and ML, with Large Language Models (LLMs) significantly impacting web experiences through AI-capable website builders and direct site creation. While AI-generated websites like Designer GPT face content management and maintenance challenges, they promise to lower entry barriers, enhance efficiency, and allow users to focus on curation and publishing.
The question is actually whether folks will like this experience or not.
Mary Meeker has written her first report in over three years, focused on the relationship between artificial intelligence and U.S. higher education. I downloaded it here for you:
She’s really smart and I’ve really liked her reports in the past.
The no-code platform to effortlessly build and deploy AI-powered business automations. Simplify complex tasks with drag-and-drop tools. No AI expertise required.
Learn english better! Fluently is a language coach providing instant feedback on calls to enhance pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary.
YouTube summaries! I don’t like how I have to create an account but the results aren’t terrible and you can copy and paste the results with or without timestamps. Not bad.
Figma is copying Apple. Badly. Badly enough for them to halt it for a bit.
Is this the best way to include text analysis in your product analytics, and triage bugs? Might be worth a try if that’s something you need.
An all-in-one tool for job seekers where you can manage applications, build resumes, practice interviewing and more.
I like the name the most: Superlocal.
AI agents in a browser via a decentralized network? Cool.
LOL:
In June 2023, just one month into dating, my girlfriend Ava and I started hosting AI dinner parties in my small NYC apartment. AI would come up with a menu & recipes based on our inputs, which we cook & eat with friends, and rate the results. Intrigued by the personalization capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs), we wanted a learning project that was fun, social, and delicious. Our initials are AI & ML, so it seemed like fate.
Sounds like fun.
Generate PowerPoint slides with AI. This doesn’t feel exciting but it might be useful.
An AI UI tool that’s built for the AI generation. Whatever that means. But, it does look pretty and it might be worth considering as an option to Figma.
I felt like this was more about creating a virtual world and not a “vision board” for my life but it’s got some interesting outputs with your photos.
Blog post summarization tool. Easy mode. And great name too!
And this is hilarious. Enjoy that you macOS users. Have a good one!
