Meta's MTIA Chip, Intercom's Customer Support Bot, and Live Longer via AI
A few links and news and apps to click.
Morning y’all!
It’s Thursday and we’re walking our way through the week. I’ll admit that there are times where I get frustrated with even the smallest task, even and especially things that I know are good for me!
Like working out or choosing a healthier choice for a meal — it’s the small decisions that we make everyday that ultimately determine our character. I think a lot about that and the compounding interest of doing the right thing day after day after day.
Even this newsletter, which I enjoy quite a bit and the learnings I glean from just “being in the soup” can sometimes feel like a small chore. This feeling is heightened when I have a laundry list of other things to do! But, continue I must. Because the best outcomes happen when we focus on a few things and do them really, really well.

Meta announced meta training and inference accelerator (MTIA), a new chip family that’s supposedly better than most rivals. Or, at least that’s what they eventually hope will happen. It’s also a cost-cutting move since this would create less dependence on NVIDIA GPUs.
Pair programming in your terminal with a command-line GPT? Kind of neat.
Intercom is advertising > 30% efficiency gains with it’s customer service AI bot. Makes sense since there are definitely a lot of improvements on time that can be maid through customer service.
Google is rolling out editing tools for their Magic Editor, Photo Unblur, and Magic Eraser to all Photos users by May 15. I don’t use Google photos or the like but if you do then this might be a welcome addition.
Adobe is paying $3 per minute for video submissions to train it’s AI text-to-video generator in an effort to catch up to OpenAI’s Sora. Getting paid to train is not something I’m interested in but perhaps it might be fun to try?
A quick and easy way to add photo styles and filters.
Live longer with this AI longevity assistant. I don’t have a super-strong opinion about whether it’s good or not if humanity continues its search for eternal life, but, I think there enough pros for folks to keep trying. I think I’m going to welcome the end after a long and hopefully fulfilling life.
Udio is getting so much attention, especially as a competitor to Suno. They are getting so much attention that I struggled even creating an account, but, that’s a good problem (for them to have).
And that’s it friends! Short and sweet today.
